It is critical, for any client, to select the right general contractor and builder for their project whether it is a small remodel or brand new home. We also believe that it is important for you to know who we are and what we bring to the table in our field of expertise.
We are a family owned corporation with more than 70 years of combined experience in the custom building industry. My grandfather, Homer W. Brown, was a well known custom home builder from the mid-west who moved to California in the late 1950’s when he developed homes throughout Orange and LA counties. Since he was also an architect, he taught me as an early child to draw and design homes. The desire to design and build has never left me to this day.
Over my own 18 years of experience, I have project managed for some of the most prominent custom home builders throughout Santa Barbara and San Diego counties. After years of experience and study, I obtained my own Class B General Contractors license in 2006 and with the help of my father opened my own building company called Thor Design Building & Development, Inc.
After more than 38 years in Orange County, my father, Wayne L Brown, joined me here in San Diego. In August of 2008, we incorporated our custom home business. Since my father has more than 38 years of commercial, mortgage banking and real estate investment experience, he serves as CFO of this company.
We are fully licensed, insured, and bonded with the State of California, as well as, Accredited Members of the Better Business Bureau in San Diego. We adhere to a strict code of ethics to ensure that our clients are fully satisfied with our service and products that we deliver to them. Our immediate experience has ranged from the small home remodel or addition, to the multi-million dollar estates. Regardless of size, we take the same pride in providing master craftsmanship at an affordable price.
